Luke 2:17-20

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them."

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. Christmas Scripture Writing Plan
Ahhhh Christmas time is my favorite!!! 😊😁🎄🎁❤🎉 I love everything about Christmas, but I think sometimes we get caught up in the busy-ness of this time of year and we can lose focus on what the season is about.
That's why I'm really excited about this reading/writing plan that I saw from swtblessings.com .
Every day I'll get to spend a little time in Gods word reading the real Christmas story! And along with it I'm going to share a little of my new hobby with y'all! Along with every passage of Scripture I will post a handlettering/sketch art of a part of the passage.
I hope you'll enjoy it and maybe do it along with me! 😊

Faithful In The Field
I've been reading in 1 Samuel lately, I just finished chapter 11 this morning and I have already enjoyed this book SO much! Gods really brought some things to life for me.
Today God really spoke to my heart about king Saul. Many times, I feel, when we think of king Saul we often remember how he finished his course...and that wasn't so good. But we forget how well he started!
In chapter ten Saul is anointed king over Israel. In verse nine we see that God gave Saul another heart, in verse ten we see the Spirit of God come upon him and him prophesy among the prophets. At the end of the chapter Samuel brings Saul before the people to show them their king! Everyone shouted! It was a very big day in Saul's life! At the end of the day, Saul went home to Gibeah. Some were happy about Saul being the king, but verse twenty seven tells us that the children of Belial despised him! They questioned his abilities and brought him no presents. Was Saul offended by this? No. The bible says, "...But he held his peace." Saul didn't try to prove God's will to them. He knew that God was working out His will and everything would fall into place in His time. So, for now....he went home to Gibeah.
In Chapter eleven Israel receives threats from Nahash the Ammonite. Messengers are sent all throughout the coasts of Israel. When they came to Gibeah, where did they find Saul? Was he sitting in a castle, on a throne, being waited on hand and foot, just waiting for someone to come to him needing him to save the day! No. He was in the field working. In fact the messengers didn't even find him. He came out from the field to find the people weeping, and had to ask what was going on. He was ready to help, and he did. With the help of God, he defeated the Ammonites, and then at the end of the chapter the people made Saul king before the Lord in Gilgal. But he wasn't sitting around before that. He was faithful in the field before he was ever victorious in the battle and received a crown.
To me this speaks volumes of Saul! He was anointed king! He could've been lazy and had feelings of entitlement. After all, Samuel had already even told the people he was the one that God had chosen as their king! I guess what I'm trying to get at is, how do we act when we are in the waiting seasons of life? Do we just sit around waiting for God to start doing the big things or are we staying faithful in the little things?
I think Oswald Chambers explained this well in his book, My Utmost For His Highest (Which I highly reccomend you read if you haven't!!) He said, "The tendency is to look for the marvelous in our experience; we mistake the sense of the heroic for being heroes. It is one thing to go through a crisis grandly, but another thing to go through every day glorifying God when there is no witness, no limelight, no one paying the remotest attention to us. If we do not want medieval haloes, we want something that will make people say - What a wonderful man of prayer he is! What a pious devoted woman she is! If you are rightly devoted to the Lord Jesus, you have reached the sublime height where no one thinks of noticing you, all that is noticed is that the power of God comes through you all the time.
Oh I have a wonderful call from God! It takes Almighty God Incarnate in us to do the meanest duty to the glory of God. It takes God's Spirit in us to make us so absolutely humanly His that we are utterly unnoticeable. The test of the life of a saint is not success, but faithfulness in human life as it actually is. We will set up success in the Christian work as the aim; the aim is to manifest the glory of God in human life, to live the life hid with Christ in God in human conditions. Our human relationships are the actual conditions in which the ideal life of God is to be exhibited."
Are you living out everyday for the glory of God? Or are you waiting for the extraordinary days? If we aren't faithfully serving everyday, we won't be ready to face the extraordinary!
Let us live out everyday faithfully serving HIM and bringing him glory in all we do!!

Cinnamon Detox Face Mask
I am the type of person who loves just about anything homemade and natural. I especially love homemade, natural beauty products because that means less harsh chemicals on my acne prone skin!
I've made things that turned out awesome and others were insanely epic Pinterest fails!
Tonight I tried, for the second time, a detox face mask. I liked the results I got the first time, so I thought I'd try it again and share it with y'all!
Its so easy and it only takes three ingredients that you already have in your kitchen! (That phrase is always music to my frugal ears 😆)
What you'll need:
1/4 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon (if your skin is really sensitive try going for less cinnamon, because its gonna burn a bit)
1 teaspoon flour
About a teaspoon of water
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together, then add water. Mix together into a paste. Add more water if you have to.
Apply all over your clean face an let sit for about a minute or so. The cinnamon will cause a burning sensation, but that's OK (unless you're allergic to cinnamon, in which case, this mask isn't really for you! 😉) I think I put a little more cinnamon in my mixture this time on accident because mine was pretty unbearable! *oops* 😯😳

After you let it sit for a bit, wash it all off with warm water then splash your face with some cold water. Your face will be a bit red, but it will go away in about ten minutes or so.
Apply a little moisturizer to your face and that's it! Hope y'all like it as much as I do!

10 Things To Pray For Revival
Next week we have revival meeting at my church. I can't wait to see what God has in store. I don't want to just have another "revival meeting" I want to meet with God! I want true revival in my heart and in my church. Tonight my Daddy preached a message on "How To Pray For Revival." At the end he gave us ten specific things to pray for revival, and I thought they were worth sharing.
Before you pray, remember to keep an open heart. Ask God to help you to be submissive to Him and His will!
1. That God would search my heart and reveal anything that's not right with him.

2. That God will break any stubbornness or hardness in my heart.
Hosea 10:12
3. That God would show me any relationships that need to be restored.
Matthew 18:15
4. That we will have a greater sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:30
5. That God would give me a deep conviction of sin, repentance, and a renewed fear of God.
2Corinthians 7:10
6. That my words, actions, and thoughts would be pleasing to God.
Psalm 19:14
7. That God would give me a spiritual hunger and fervency like I've never known.

10. That God would give me courage and boldness to witness for Him.
Acts 4:29
James 5:16-18

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit."

A Lost Preacher's Kid - My Testimony
I've gone back and forth on what I wanted my first blog post to be about. I consider myself to be more of a thinker than a writer, so coming up with a few little thoughts or ideas isn't too hard, but writing it down and putting it all into words?....now that can be challenge.
Anyways...after a bit of thinking, I've decided that since this blog is kind of my own little corner of the internet, if you will, to share a bit of my life with y'all; why not start with the day that I started truly living. -The day I got saved.
I was raised in a Christian home and my family has always been as faithful to church as we could be. Of course, though, with my Daddy being the pastor, if we had church at all we were there. My family would also travel to other churches when they would have special meetings, as well. (and I've always loved it)
That being said, I've heard the Gospel message many, many times!
As a young child, I remember our church had a meeting and God moved in in a mighty way. I remember a few people got saved that night and I, just being little and not truly understanding much at all about God or salvation, went forward. I prayed and that was all. All it was was just a little prayer that I'd prayed; a false profession of salvation, but no possession of it.
After a while I began to realize that I lacked a true possession of salvation and I started to become afraid of dying and going to hell. I truly believe that the Lord was just starting to work on me a bit.
When I was about 11 years old our church had a revival meeting and I went forward again...this time because I was scared and I didn't want to be anymore. I prayed but I never felt any peace. I just figured, "Well, I prayed. That's it, right?" Instead of asking for help and telling someone how I was feeling I just got up and told everyone that I had gotten saved. I really regret doing that! I think I would've saved myself a lot of trouble if I had just asked for some help.
For quite a few years I held on to that false profession. I honestly don't even know how long, but for a long while (at least 2-3 years) God really convicted me, but I ignored all the crystal clear signs that God was showing me my lost and sinful state and instead tried to rationalize and convince myself in any way that I could that I was saved.
I'd tell myself things like:
- "Oh the devil is just making me doubt....I'm saved"
- "But I love God and I want to serve him. Saved people fell like that, right? ....yeah I'm saved then"
- "I feel bad when I do things I shouldn't do. Isn't that the rebuking of the Holy Spirit in my heart or something? ....yeah I'm saved."
And I'd ignore all the things God would show me:
- The devil wouldn't tell someone they weren't saved. He doesn't want people to worry about getting saved and serving the Lord, so he'd be stupid to tell someone they weren't. (Now I know some people might disagree with me on this and I'm more than happy to explain my thoughts on the subject, but that's a different post for a different day.)
- God doesn't chasten those who aren't His...and he had never chastened me. Sure I knew I was a sinner and I have a conscience, so I would feel bad when I did something wrong, but God would never speak to me through his word to teach me, help me to grow or show me something I was doing wrong and needed to get right with him. I would sometimes get so frustrated because I'd go to church and ask God to speak to me and show me something that maybe I needed to get right in my life and I never got anything. The only real conviction I ever felt had to do with my salvation.
- Any time I would share "my testimony" I'd always have to candy-coat things or change it up a little to make it sound real. I believe I did this more in attempts to convince myself than to convince other people.
- For pretty much the whole time God had been dealing with me I had absolutely no peace. I couldn't even walk into an empty room without wondering if the rapture had happened and I had gotten left behind.
- I could never honestly say that I knew 100% for sure that I was saved.
I struggled with this for years and constantly pushed God away.
All that time I never went to anyone for help.- Opening up and talking about my feelings has never been an easy thing for me. I find it very hard to do and it scares me to death! That was one of the main things that kept me from getting the help that I needed.
Finally, when I was 17, I came to my breaking point and for the very first time in my life I went to my parents and said one of the hardest phrases I've ever had to say:
"I need to talk to you."
After opening up and saying how I had been feeling out loud it was pretty obvious to me what I needed.
I was a lost sinner, without God, on my way to a devil's hell, and I needed to get saved and have the blood of Jesus applied to my heart and life.
After reading some scripture I prayed.....and nothing happened.
God had been dealing with me and drawing me to him for a long time, I knew I was a sinner and I was sorry for my sin and I believe the Gospel, but there was something hindering me from getting saved and I didn't know what.
I didn't understand what the problem was, but this time I wasn't going to push it aside. I was sick of fighting God and I didn't want to live a life without Him. I wanted to be truly saved and I wanted God to be the Lord of my life, so this time I asked for help
After a sleepless night of praying and asking God what was hindering things, and reading my Bible, God showed me what the problem was.
I wasn't having faith.- I wasn't trusting that He'd save me. I was relying too much on myself and how I felt. I needed to realize that salvation wasn't about me and that getting saved isn't all about having this amazing, supernatural feeling right after you pray. It's simply taking God at his Word. It's all about Him. He paid the debt for me and I just needed to trust him and accept what He's already done.
I struggled with that for a couple days until finally it was like the light bulb clicked on and God said, "Listen, I'm enough. Just trust me." and by the grace of God, September 13th, 2013 I asked Jesus into my heart and He saved me!
Now I can honestly say that I Know that I'm saved. My life has been so different since that night in my bedroom where Jesus found me. Now God speaks to me often, he teaches me and helps me grow, and he chastens me when I do the things I shouldn't. He hears me when I pray and He's always, always there!
I'm not perfect I'm just pardoned. God's not done working on me and he's got a long way to go!
I love my heavenly Father for who He is and everything he's done for me. I've failed him many times, but He's never, ever failed me!
Oh what a Saviour is mine!!
